- Relax! You can't make a "mistake" in worship.
- Feel free to ask someone for help or direction. This is a friendly bunch of folks.
- Feel free to observe. Worship is a great drama and dance or word, song, and action. We stand up, sit down, speak, sing, and move around as a way to show that our whole selves are involved in worship. If you need to "sit out" from time to time, that's fine!
Everyone is welcome in worship
- We rejoice in the presence of people of all ages in this worship gathering. As Jesus welcomed the shouts of children in the temple, so we also welcome the shouts of praise that come from young children.
- If you have a young child sit near the front so your child can see better. When they can see, they feel included. And when they feel included, they will behave better! You can also have them stand on the pew when you are standing- again, so they feel included!
- If your child needs a break from worship, you may step out into the narthex/lobby or front hallway by the office where there is plenty of seating. There is also a nursery located across from the restrooms. Feel free to come and go as needed during the service.
- Our worship regularly includes "Children's Word," a time for one-on-one interaction between the pastor and your child. Recently added to our worship is a weekly "Taking Faith Home" bulletin insert. Using this resource will both enrich your home life and build upon your child's experience of worship.
Our space
- Our worship space is on a single-level. The sanctuary is wheelchair accessible with designated places to "park" among the seating (so that you can sit next to your companion). The restrooms are handicap accessible with height-appropriate handlebars for the toilets.
Our worship
- Our worship is musical, liturgical, and inter-generational. We value community ritual, congregational singing, and fellowship. We practice a variety of musical and liturgical expressions. Our worship follows the historical, ecumenical and Biblical pattern of: gathering, word (scripture and preaching), meal (communion), and sending.
A note about communion
- We celebrate communion each Sunday. Communion is an opportunity to experience the living Christ present in bread and in wine. It is the event that centers us as a community. All who desire to receive communion are welcome to do so.
