Prayer: the center of our being
Prayer is at the center of who we are as Christian people. Throughout the story of Israel in the Old Testament, in the life and ministry of Jesus, and through the growth of the early Church, we find prayer is what connects us as humans to God our Heavenly Father. Each time we gather on Sunday mornings we bring our concerns and thanksgivings together and lift them to God. We are not called to only pray on Sundays, though! As a Christian community we also come together during the week to pray Matins and Vespers. We also, of course, pray individually and collectively whenever the Holy Spirit moves us.
I pray because I can't help myself. I pray because I'm helpless. I pray because the need flows out of me all the time, waking and sleeping. It doesn't change God. It changes me.
- C.S. Lewis

They will be, depending on your preference, prayed privately by our vicar, or offered on your behalf at our Monday Matins and Sunday Mass. You can access the form here:

Thou hast made us for Thyself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it finds its rest in thee. - St. Augustine Confessions |
Upon entering the narthex at Beaver Lutheran Church, you'll find a prayer station in the right corner. Please feel free to come, light a candle, and be at peace before God. This is sacred space, and we pray that you will find comfort here.
