You and your loved ones are most welcome to join us at Beaver Lutheran Church, and throughout our Lutheran community, this Holy Week as we journey with Jesus toward the cross of Good Friday and await, with longing in our hearts, to see the empty tomb of Easter Sunday. Come be with us; there's a place just for you.
Holy Week 2026 Schedule
(March 29th - April 5th)
Sunday
Palm Sunday Mass - 10:15AM - Beaver Lutheran Church
Procession beginning outside (weather permitting), commemorating Christ’s entry into Jerusalem. Blessing of lay servers and the celebration of the Eucharist.
Monday
Matins - 9AM - Beaver Lutheran Church
Spoken service of Morning Prayer in the nave featuring Scripture readings.
Tuesday
Chrism Mass - 10:30AM - Milton Lutheran Church, Milton
Renewal of vows for clergy, celebration of the Eucharist, and the consecration and dispersal of holy oil. Lunch to follow - please RSVP to [email protected].
Wednesday
Pilgrimage Walk - 5:30PM - Trail of Trees, Selinsgrove
A 1.2 mile walk in the woods, moments of prayer, Holy Scripture, and silence. Wear appropriate footwear as the path is not paved.
In the event of poor weather a recorded Compline service will be posted on Facebook.
Thursday
Maundy Mass - 7PM - Messiah Lutheran Church, Troxelville
A sung Eucharist commemorating Christ’s Last Supper, featuring Scripture readings, a homily, and concluding with the stripping of the altar.
Friday
Private Confession - 5PM - Beaver Lutheran Church
An opportunity to sit with Pr. Larry in the nave for penance and reconciliation.
Stations of the Cross - 6PM - Beaver Lutheran Church
A simple service of prayer and devotion following the Stations of the Cross in the nave.
Good Friday Eucharist - 7PM - Beaver Lutheran Church
A spoken service of prayer as we remember our Lord’s passion. Holy Communion is shared from the reserved sacrament.
Saturday
Easter Egg Hunt - 1PM - Beaver Lutheran Church
A traditional egg hunt around the property of the church. The event will be moved indoors if the weather is bad.
The Great Vigil of Easter - 7PM - Beaver Lutheran Church
Beginning outside with the new fire and the lighting of the Paschal Candle, a procession moves the congregation inside where the story of God’s salvation of humanity is heard. The renewal of baptismal vows and the first Eucharist of Easter are celebrated.
Sunday
Easter Sunrise Service - 7AM - Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Selinsgrove
A sunrise service in the cemetery of Salem Church, celebrating the dawn of resurrection life.
Easter Breakfast - 9:15AM - Beaver Lutheran Church
All are welcome to join the Sunday School classes in the fellowship hall for this time of fellowship.
Easter Morning Festival Mass - 10:30AM - Beaver Lutheran Church
The celebration of Christ’s resurrection continues with great fanfare in this sung Eucharist with special music.
